Cooking
Pam Carey runs the successful catering business Serving Thyme. She has been teaching popular classes for 20 years.

Nancy Contessa’s long-time passion for cooking is well-known to all those who still use the 1997Bronxville School Cookbook she helped to produce. Nancy’s favorite place to be is in the kitchen cooking for family and friends.

Michael Dolan has been Executive Chef at the Bronxville Field Club for the past 23 years (he was discovered in a basket on the Club’s doorstep).

Sheila Landsberg, a local resident and former Bronxville parent, enjoys cooking for family and friends and is committed to using only the freshest local and seasonal ingredients available.

Dance
Carol Sundquist (McCarthy), a popular teacher for more than 20 years, has a background in all styles of social dance, including competitive, fad, and period, and is an associate member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.

Golf/Fitness/Paddle Tennis/Tai Chi
Mary Beltran, LMT, RYT, is a registered Yoga teacher certified in Kripalu Yoga with over 5,000 hours of experience, a certified Feldenkrais practitioner, and a certified Pilates and breathing-work teacher. She is also a licensed massage therapist and is certified by the American Council for Exercise as a personal trainer and group instructor.

Kevin Chin has been a teaching professional at Lake Isle Country Club for the past seven years. He is a TGS certified instructor who has passed the PGA Playing Ability Test. Joe DeMauro is a Correspondence Chess Grandmaster who has played First Board for the United States Team in the Correspondence Chess Olympiad.

Liz Edwards is a professional musician with a BS in music and over 20 years of teaching experience.

Barbara Gill, a former Bronxville school parent, has been designing and making beaded jewelry for more than 10 years.

Laurita Marshall is a certified knitting instructor and popular knitting teacher whose enthusiasm for knitting inspires beautiful creations by her students.

Lou Sabini is a noted film historian and archivist who has spent a lifetime collecting, studying and preserving rare and classic films from Hollywood’s Golden Age. He is also a long-time film teacher, and his vast film knowledge has been the subject of numerous articles in publications including The New York Times. He is currently working on a book on the ‘pre-code’ era of Hollywood.

John D. Williams,
the Executive Director of the National Scrabble Association, is the co-author of Everything Scrabble (Simon & Schuster), the author of the Daily Scrabble Calendar (WorkmanPublishing) and the syndicated Scrabblegrams featured in many newspapers. He is a rated Tournament Player and appeared in the Emmy-nominated documentary Word Wars.

Leonard Pouder, a well-known landscape designer, has managed and operated Lieb’s Nursery for more than 15 years. Lieb’s has been a family-run business for more than 90 years.

Martin Keefe
, local resident and former Bronxville school parent, has had a professional career in international marketing and consulting and a life-long interest in languages and poetry. His passion for Dante led him to spend three years studying Dante’s works in the original archaic Italian – just for the pure joy of it!

Madora Kibbe, author of a book of essays entitled A Few Things I’ve Noticed, has been a professional writer for over 30 years. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including The Christian Science Monitor and Working Woman Magazine. She is currently working on her second book of essays It’s A Slippery Slope.

Studio Art
Bonnie Cotnoir is an experienced teacher who has won numerous awards for her work.

Joseph Fama, an award-winning artist, often captures inspiration from scenes in nature and from history. His “Western Collection”, detailed oil paintings of the Old West, has been widely exhibited.He has been an advertising agency art director, a designer for Christopher Radko and an adjunct art professor at Westchester Community College. Rita P. Lenn has worked as a fine artist and a decorative artist and teacher for many years. Her hand-built porcelain has been exhibited in galleries and commissioned by architects and interior designers. Her hand-painted silk wearable art has been shown in galleries and boutiques and appears in Fiberarts Design Book Five and in The Best of Silk Painting. She currently concentrates on privates commissions of major pieces of silk wall art.

Jean Vincenza Liggio is listed in Who’s Who of American Women. A long-time teacher, she has received numerous awards and has staged numerous exhibitions of her work throughout the NY Metropolitan area.

While volunteering at the Mt. Vernon Animal Shelter, artist Carol Hall started painting pet portraits to attract attention to the plight of the shelter’s many homeless dogs and cats waiting for adoption. Her privately-commissioned pet portraits have been sold at a local Bronxville store.
