Bernstein: Broadway and Beyond

In the past 6 years or so, Leonard Bernstein has been celebrated in many high-profile ways - from numerous global celebrations for commemorating his 100th birthday in 2018 to the 2023 release of Bradley Cooper's Oscar-nominated biopic, "Maestro." And all these celebrations are well-deserved. His contribution to the theatre, symphonic music, and the elevation of classical music to all generations is undeniable. Most will know his iconic work, "West Side Story" but there is so much more to explore in his body of work including the "Candide," "On the Town" and the "Mass." Join Dr. Regina Zona for a fun and informative discussion of Bernstein's life and body of work with lots of musical examples that will delight and inspire.
