The Advanced Knife Skills class is for the home cook who wants to improve their accuracy and precision.
In this class, you will learn and practice more intricate cuts, such as:
- julienne
- brunoise/fine brunoise
- bias
- supreme
- chiffonade
- rondelles
- Parisiennes
We will define these terms and discuss the best applications for fancy cuts. With your newly honed advanced techniques, you will impress your dining companions and elevate both presentation and texture, while becoming more efficient.
Suggested Menu (to use up what you cut):
- Supremed Citrus and Herb Salad with Citrus Vinaigrette
- Chickpea Noodle Soup
No prep necessary. You might want to turn your cuts into a quick dinner. Recipes will be provided. Minimal class time will be devoted to the recipes/meal prep and the focus will be on the knife skills.
Prerequisite: Knife Skills for Beginners is recommended, but not required. Participants should be able to properly handle a knife and have extensive daily experience with consistent and even basic cuts, like chopping, slicing, and dicing.
