In this course, students will continue to develop foundational watercolor techniques—including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, color mixing, and composition—while adding a new dimension: drawing. Basic drawing concepts will be introduced and practiced to help students create more realistic and refined watercolor paintings. With guided instruction and hands-on exercises, you'll gain the confidence and skills to bring your artistic vision to life. Let your imagination flourish as you blend drawing and watercolor into vibrant, dynamic works of art.

This course will assume some familiarity with watercolor basics such as wet-on-wet, dry brush techniques, color mixing, and brushwork, as these will not be the primary focus of instruction. If you’re new to watercolor, we recommend starting with Watercolor Foundations: A Two-Week Workshop, where these foundational skills are taught.

Learn piecing and quilting techniques while creating a project you'll enjoy for years to come. This four-week sewing machine class welcomes all skill levels. Beginners are encouraged to join and will learn sewing machine fundamentals during the first class. All supplies included.

Crocheted granny Squares are easy, versatile crochet designs that can be applied for personal use and gift giving. Grannies require just a few basic stitches but have endless variations. This class covers basic Granny construction then introduces the student to variations and pattern suggestions to make exciting and seasonal projects.

Basic knowledge of crochet stitches (ch, ss, sc, dc) required. Please bring 2+ skeins/balls of yarn in a light color of your choice to master color changing and a corresponding crochet hook.

Learn the timeless art of needlepoint while creating a beautiful project you'll be proud to display. This hands-on class covers foundational stitches and techniques, guiding you step by step as you work on a piece you select yourself from the beautiful collection at Bargello Needlepoint in Tuckahoe. Choose from a range of self-finishing projects to fit your budget and skill level, (such as keyrings, credit card holder/wallet, luggage tag, jewelry cases). Projects will be available at the store for purchase starting at $45. All levels welcome, no experience necessary. Come stitch, relax, and take home something handmade.

This course offers a welcoming introduction to working on the pottery wheel. Designed for beginners, students learn the foundational skills needed to shape clay into simple, functional forms while building confidence at the wheel. Instruction focuses on how clay responds to movement and pressure, guiding students step by step through throwing, trimming, and glazing. Alongside wheel skills, students are introduced to working in a shared studio environment. We cover essential studio practices, safety protocols, clay recycling, glaze systems, and how to care for tools and workspaces, so students feel confident and responsible using the studio. By the end of the course, students will have created finished ceramic pieces and gained a solid foundation for continuing into intermediate classes or open studio work. No prior ceramics experience is required.

Participants will use traditional Chinese brush techniques combined with watercolor to paint a beautiful Christmas tree on watercolor paper, creating a unique handmade holiday greeting card. This workshop is best suited for those with some watercolor painting experience who would like to explore Chinese brush techniques in a fun, seasonal project.

During this hands-on Kintsugi-inspired workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn, create, and share. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, highlighting the cracks instead of hiding them–embracing imperfections as part of the object’s history. This philosophy can also serve as a powerful metaphor for personal growth and healing.

Students will learn about this historic art form and how it can apply to each person. They will be guided through a modern approach, wherein they break, paint, and rebuild their own bowl, showing and creating a connection to their journey. Participants will paint their bowls and then highlight the cracks with gold glue making it unique to them. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share collectively or in small groups, conversing about how we have all been challenged in various ways, and how there is strength in the growth of the rebuild. As an art therapist, Tara offers opportunities for connection through art, relating it to self and the healing process of putting our own pieces back together.
