This course is designed for students with little to no prior experience with the language. It will focus on foundational aspects such as pronunciation, basic vocabulary, simple sentences, frequently used expressions, and fundamental grammar concepts.

This course is intended for students who have some familiarity with the language and can comprehend everyday phrases and basic sentences. We will expand on vocabulary and grammar to enhance communication and facilitate simple, routine interactions. It builds on the material covered in Spanish Beginner.

This course is for students who have some previous experience with the language, can use it with relative spontaneity, and possess a reasonably broad vocabulary. The focus will be on enhancing verbal and conversational abilities.

Join us for a screening and discussion of Valentín, an Argentinean film that will win your heart. We will watch the film with English subtitles, and you will discover why critic Roger Ebert praised the 8-year-old protagonist Valentín ("brave" in Spanish) for living up to his name. Then, we’ll have a guided discussion in Spanish about the characters, themes, and favorite scenes. Don’t worry about making mistakes—our instructor will be there to help. Come for a fun evening of film, conversation, and palomitas (popcorn)!
