Whether you are brand new to the sport that is taking over the country or you have been enjoying it for some time, this class will help you learn and review the rules of the game and practice basic skills. Through a combination of instruction and gameplay, the goals of this class are for students to:
- Understand the basic rules of the game
- Learn to keep score
- Develop a consistent forehand shot
- Demonstrate a backhand shot
- Sustain a short rally with players of equal ability
- Understand proper court positioning
- Serve consistently
- Hit medium-paced shots
- Dink
Please note that it may be appropriate for some students who have completed this or another beginner course to remain at this level for multiple sessions. To progress to the Advanced Beginner level, students must have acquired the above skills and, in addition, must also:
- Have good mobility, moving in a safe and balanced manner
- Be quick and able to maneuver around the court effectively
- Have good hand-eye coordination

  This workshop is designed for those who have been curious about platform tennis, but haven’t had many opportunities to try it out. It will give you a grasp on the game, and will focus on entry-level techniques. Racquet sport lovers will have a blast in this tennis/squash hybrid sport. Platform is an addictive, fun and social way to play, regardless of your level.
Please Note:
- Athletic clothing and tennis shoes with non-marking rubber soles are required.
- Play will take place on outdoor courts. Please dress for the weather.
- In the event of inclement weather, we will send a cancellation notification by email. Please be sure to check your email before heading out to the class.

These classes are great for meeting others who are interested in improving their game. New golfers can learn how to play the game in a low-stress environment. Experienced golfers can make changes to their game or just keep it fresh for the season. PLEASE NOTE:
- Class meets at the Lake Isle Country Club Pro Shop.
- Lake Isle dress code: no jeans, no tee shirts, no open-toed shoes.
- Equipment provided; students are welcome to bring their own equipment if they have it.
- We will hold class in light rain; dress appropriately.
