Join the Bronxville Adult School for our inaugural Mah Jongg Tournament! Whether you are a seasoned player or a confident Advanced Beginner looking to test your skills, this evening is designed for enthusiasts who love the thrill of the game and the company of the Mah Jongg community. This is a "friendly" competition focused on skill-building, social connection, and the joy of the tiles. 

To keep the energy high and the games moving, we will follow a structured "round-robin" style format. Players will compete in four rounds of play, encouraging efficient play and quick decision-making. Participants will have the opportunity to meet and play with different partners throughout the evening. 

The event will be facilitated by Grace Smith, co-founder of Moms4Mahj, who will manage the clock and scoring. Please bring your own 2026 Mah Jongg National League Card. Mah Jongg sets and light refreshments will be provided.

Come for the competition, stay for the community, and see if you can take home the prize and title of BAS Mah Jongg Champion!

Building on their knowledge of the game, students will review the Mah Jongg basics and the current card of hands. We will learn more defensive, strategic steps towards winning the game and/or playing against challenging players, as well as quicker decision-making in ways of choosing hands (which is the most challenging and difficult for most players) and betting options.
