In this workshop, students will explore how to manage and learn from their beautiful and vast array of emotions. Emotions serve as an alert system and are defined as “energy in motion.” We experience a nuanced range and variety of them every day. When we encounter situations in which we don’t understand our own reactions, are confused about why we have uncomfortable and unexpected physical sensations, and why one emotional state can shift to another within seconds, we need to understand them more.

In this class, students will learn how bodily sensations play a fundamental role in shaping perceptions, emotions, and behaviors. For example, how do you feel stress? As a racing heart, sweating, or tight shoulders? Once you have an awareness of the physical manifestations of emotions, you can work to down-regulate your reactions and calm down your nervous system. Through self-awareness exercises, Aviva will guide you in connecting with all your senses, including physical sensations and intuitive insights that act as a guidance system, so you can feel empowered to approach life with more clarity and understanding. Students will also receive take-home materials for future review.
