    Roll out of bed – roll out your mat. Begin your day with gentle movement, aligning both body and mind with the rising sun. This practice guides you through foundational poses and sun salutations, designed to stretch, strengthen, and awaken your body. The class ends with a brief meditation, cultivating a sense of peace and clarity to carry into the rest of your day.

    PLEASE NOTE THAT WHILE THIS IS A FREE CLASS FOR THE COMMUNITY, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.


    NOTE TIME CHANGE: Due to the time of sunrise, class will start at 7 am through October.

    PLEASE NOTE:

    • Bring a yoga mat and a water bottle.
    • The class will be held on grass or the library patio, so you may want to bring something to put under your mat.
    • Bring any props you use in your yoga practice, such as a blanket or heavy towel to sit on, yoga blocks, straps, etc.
    • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.

    This workshop is designed for those who have been curious about platform tennis but haven’t had many opportunities to try it out. It will give you a grasp on the game and will focus on entry-level techniques. Racquet sport lovers will have a blast in this tennis/squash hybrid sport. Platform is an addictive, fun, and social way to play, regardless of your level.


    Please Note:

    • Athletic clothing and tennis shoes with non-marking rubber soles are required.
    • Play will take place on outdoor courts.  Please dress for the weather.
    • In the event of inclement weather, we will send a cancellation notification by email. Please be sure to check your email before heading out to the class.
    • Paddles and balls are provided.

    Are your hip joints increasingly painful or feel stiff as you age? If stretching and strengthening exercises haven't improved your discomfort, this is the series for you. Led by Patricia Wahl, Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and Movement Coach, you'll discover practical movement skills to enhance your hip and knee joint health. Through lessons that use natural movement patterns of the body, you'll explore and improve your habits, reduce chronic tension and pain, and learn to minimize effort on your hips and knees, all while preserving joint integrity.

    These classes are for all abilities and include lying down on the floor. Please bring a mat, a couple of towels for support under your head and/or knees.

    Tai Chi and Qigong are movement systems based on ancient Chinese medicine and martial arts. They combine slow, fluid movements with breathing and gentle stretching to improve balance and flexibility, increase energy, and improve overall sense of peace and wellbeing. Each session invites you to breathe deeply, move slowly, and cultivate inner calm. Whether you're new to these ancient practices or returning to deepen your experience, this class offers a peaceful space for relaxation, rejuvenation, and self-care. All levels welcome.     You've seen it on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube – people doing synchronized, intricate footwork in the middle of driveways and public spaces. What are they doing? They are shuffling and cutting shapes, and you could do it, too! This course covers the basics of these dance styles, namely the T-step, the running man/woman, and the Charleston, along with many of their variations. These steps will provide a foundation to begin freestyling and learning choreography. Expect an incredible workout, some fun combos, and a safe space for creative expression. This class is designed for all levels, including beginners.  Modifications can be made as needed.

    PLEASE NOTE: Students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. It’s best to pick shoes without a lot of grip/traction. Shuffling involves a lot of foot-pivoting, which is easier when there is less friction between the soles of your shoes and the floor.
