Learn how to make gravity your friend, relax your body, and find more enjoyment in an activity we do every day – walking! Each session will focus on key aspects of the movement patterns we use whenever we walk, including posture, static and dynamic balance, core stability, extremity usage and more. You’ll have the opportunity to practice the different focus areas at your own pace during our time together. Discover how to align your body efficiently to minimize stress, avoid aches and pains, and get the most out of every walk you take. Whether you are just starting to walk for fitness or interested in taking your routine to the next level, Focused Walking will help you maintain an active lifestyle. Participants should be able to stand and walk at a moderate pace, with minimal rest periods, during this hour-long class.
Please wear fitness shoes or sneakers suitable for walking outdoors.
The class will be held at Bronxville Lake. The specific meeting place will be emailed a few days before the first class. Please be sure to check your email, including your spam folder.
PLEASE NOTE: This class meets outdoors and will be canceled in the event of rain (sometimes at the last minute). Make-up dates may be added as necessary, but we are unable to offer refunds or credit if you are not able to attend a scheduled make-up. Please take this into consideration before registering.
