    Functional fitness replicates movements of everyday living, such as pushing, pulling, lunging, and rotating in all three dimensions. It builds muscular strength and stability, as well as speed, agility, endurance, power, and balance. Exercises will be done seated and standing.

    PLEASE NOTE: Students should bring a set of light handweights and a bottle of water.

    Tai Chi and Qigong are movement systems based on ancient Chinese medicine and martial arts. They combine slow, fluid movements with breathing and gentle stretching, to improve balance and flexibility, increase energy, and improve overall sense of peace and wellbeing.

    PLEASE NOTE:

    • This class will be held outdoors, so dress accordingly for the temperature.
    • In case of rain, the class will be rescheduled.

    Balance is dynamic, and being able to right one’s self and avoid falling becomes increasingly important with aging. Join Patricia Wahl, a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, in this class series, using principles from The Feldenkrais Method and exploring natural movement patterns of the body, you will learn how to use less effort in movement, gain flexibility in your spine and improve your balance. Have a family member or friend who wants to improve flexibility or mobility? Bring them along. Either way, give yourself the gift of better movement that you can apply to your life for years to come.

    PLEASE NOTE: 

    • Bring a yoga mat and/or blanket and a regular-sized bath towel.
