You've seen it on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube – people doing synchronized stomping movements and intricate footwork in the middle of driveways and public spaces. What are they doing? They are shuffling, and you could do it, too! This course covers the basics of Melbourne style, characterized by stomping and gliding across the floor. We will focus on the running man, t-steps, kicks, spins, and glides, establishing a foundation to freestyle and learn choreography. Expect an incredible workout, some fun combos, and a safe space for creative expression. This class is designed for all levels, including beginners. Modifications can be made as needed.
Here are some examples of the instructor shuffling:

PLEASE NOTE: Students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. It’s best to pick shoes without a lot of grip/traction. Shuffling involves a lot of foot-pivoting, which is easier when there is less friction between the soles of your shoes and the floor.

Tai Chi-Qigong is a healing exercise for our body, opening blocked energy channels through proper posture, breath work, and advanced concentration within graceful movement. Through this practice the condition of cells, muscles, bones, and joints are strengthened and revitalized, improving the function of internal organs and intestines.
Tai Chi (TaeGeuk) is the principle of the cosmic energy cycle. When cosmic energy is created and eventually reaches its peak, instead of disappearing, the energy converts into a different type of energy, thereby continuing its lifecycle.
Qigong is the understanding and application of the Tai Chi principle into our lives. We can embrace the cosmic energy cycle and transform ourselves, leading a less self-centered and more altruistic, devoted life.

IT’S ALWAYS A YOGA PRACTICE, NEVER A YOGA PERFECT
Practice like it’s the first time every time.
Whether you want to begin a yoga practice or practice to maintain your yoga practice, this class has been designed for you!
In this class, you will learn the fundamental and foundational postures of the yoga practice. Each practice creates a pattern of consistency, develops muscle memory, and strengthens the mind-body connection. We will explore various ways to both enter and transition from one posture into another, building towards learning the SUN SALUTATION; a yoga sequence practiced by yogis all over the world.
You will begin to integrate the physical postures, with the asana (pose) names in both English and Sanskrit, develop an understanding of cues often heard in studio classes, with a nod to those that sound strange; "pull your naval to your spine" and "root down to rise up."
Yoga is a relaxant. Yoga heightens awareness, cultivates patience, and balances the body-mind connection. Yoga improves strength, musculoskeletal fitness, and flexibility. Learning the basics sets you on the path to a lifelong yoga practice. All you need to do is show up, roll out your mat, and practice like it's the first time every time.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and water.
- Prior to the first class you will receive an email from your instructor, Nan, about additional props that will enhance your yoga practice.

THIS CLASS IS FULL. Please click the "Add to Waitlist" button below. Using Chair Yoga as the foundation of this class, the focus will be to develop and increase balancing skills critical for staying strong and safe. Balancing, whether you’re walking, running, jumping, and especially while standing, requires muscle strength and strong bones. Over time muscles and bones can weaken, causing us to lose strength, and balancing becomes more of a challenge. BUT…strong muscles and bones are not the only factors that keep us from getting wobbly. The sensory systems have a huge impact on balance. The receptors that enable touch and feel, the vestibular system (the complex inner ear workings), and vision have a profound impact, playing havoc with the ability to balance. Using a series of exercises that integrate both strength and agility with the sensory systems, done on and off the chair, you will align your bones and joints. Not only will you gain strength and balance more easily, but you will also feel more balanced.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Wear comfortable clothes and bring water.
- Per Studio B's policy, no shoes of any kind may be worn in the studio where the class takes place. Socks with strong grips or bare feet are preferred for this class.
