FitWalk is a unique, outdoor fitness class that combines brisk walking with light strength training to boost energy, build muscle, and improve balance—all in the fresh air of nature. Using light hand weights (2–5 lbs, based on your fitness level), you’ll move through functional strength intervals designed to support better bones, joint health, and a strong core. Each session hits all the major muscle groups and includes training for stability, coordination, and posture. No two classes are exactly the same—but every FitWalk focuses on total-body wellness, community, and motivation. Along the way, you'll also build mindfulness and mental clarity, helping you feel stronger inside and out. All levels are welcome.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Bring 2 lb. or 3 lb. handheld dumbbells, depending on your fitness level.
- Athletic shoes are required. Dress in layers.
- As this is an outdoor class, please check your email in case of rain or potential inclement weather for class cancellation.
- This class may be canceled in the event of rain (sometimes at the last minute). Make-up dates will be added on as necessary, but we are unable to offer refunds or credit if you are not able to attend a scheduled make-up.

 What’s up north? Join Ginny on this spring tour of the most natural part of Central Park, the North Woods and Harlem Meer, featuring stone arched bridges and manmade waterfalls. We’ll visit the newly renovated Conservatory Gardens’ formal French, English, and Italians gardens with their beautiful spring blooms, and see the gate that belonged to a Vanderbilt. Then we’ll venture over to explore the brand new, state-of-the-art facility, Harlem Meer Center, that replaced the Lasker Pool and Rink. PLEASE NOTE:
- Walk covers approximately 1.5 miles, many hills, stairs, and some uneven paths.
- Precise meeting location will be provided a few days before the event.

 Increasingly, women are being diagnosed with bone loss. For over two decades, renowned osteoporosis expert, medical doctor, and yoga teacher, Dr. Loren Fishman, has been researching the way in which yoga can prevent and build bone. His bone health routine forms the core of this class, along with his prescriptions for safety. Students should be able to get up and down from the floor on their own or with a nearby chair assist. No yoga experience required, but please consult with your doctor before signing up. PLEASE NOTE:
- Wear comfortable exercise attire, and prepare to remove socks.

 Please join Page Knox for a walk through the Metropolitan Museum of Art's iconic Nineteenth Century wing, and witness the evolution of Impressionism. Beginning with Romantics like Eugene Delacroix and the Barbizon landscape painters, the collection reveals the rise of the avant-garde in the 1800s. We'll see how the work of realist Gustave Courbet and proto-Impressionist Edouard Manet leads to the creation of the movement with its beloved artists Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley, and Berthe Morisot. As the century ends, we'll witness the rise of Post Impressionism, with iconic works by Vincent Van Gogh, Georges Seurat, and Paul Cezanne, as they lay the foundations for modern art. PLEASE NOTE:

 Across cultures and throughout history, people have turned to plants for healing, regulation, and connection. In this hands-on, interactive session, participants will explore the foundations of plant care alongside the therapeutic benefits of engaging with nature. Together, we’ll discuss how plants can support cognitive function, mood/regulation, and overall well-being, while introducing simple plant therapy practices that encourage mindfulness and personal growth.
This workshop will teach practical care techniques through direct experience, passing around a variety of indoor plants, and troubleshooting common challenges such as root rot, yellowing leaves, overwatering, and pruning. Each participant will select, water, and label a plant to take home, building confidence in nurturing living things beyond the workshop.
Towards the end of the session, we’ll have a guided reflective activity, “The Nervous System Tree,” a mindful drawing practice that invites participants to explore questions of grounding, growth, and self-care through creative expression. Participants will leave with their own plant, practical skills, and a deeper sense of horticulture therapy and how our connection to the natural world can enhance our connection to ourselves and one another. No prior plant or art experience is required.

 Before Central Park, New Yorkers escaped the city to the Green-Wood Cemetery, not just a resting place for some of New York City’s notable residents, but an oasis tucked away in Brooklyn. On this tour, we’ll start at the high Victorian Gothic Revival Brownstone gates designed by the distinguished American architect Richard Upjohn. We’ll visit the historic chapel designed by Warren & Wetmore (architects of Grand Central Terminal), as well as explore the grounds of Beaux Arts mausoleums, some featuring Tiffany glass windows, while listening to the stories of some of New York City’s prominent families that eternally reside on the grounds. PLEASE NOTE:
- Walk covers approximately 1.5 mile, very hilly, some stairs, uneven paths.
- Tour starts at the main entrance of Green-Wood Cemetery, Fifth Avenue and 25th Street, Brooklyn.
